Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great find! Chips were fresh, salsa was delicious-could eat with a spoon! Had a pollo salad with avocado and fresh jalapeño. Great pico degallo, with just enough jalapeños, was made fresh. Very authentic right down to telemundo on the station..

NO PLACE IN TOWN HAS GUACAMOLE THIS GOOD!!!!! I am from Mexico born and raised and let me tell you this guacamole comes close to the one my uncle used to make in hot summer nights at the ranch. The salsa is warm and wonderful and authentic. The chips are fried tortillas so don't expect packaged chips. The Flautas is my favorite dish!!!

I love authentic mexican food and was so surprised to find it while on a business trip to Little Rock. They serve their beers in nicely frosted mugs with salt on the rim with lime! Warm chips and warm salsa. The menu is full of authentic dishes. I had the Brochetas con Chorizo, which was so good I couldn't stop eating. Very friendly staff! I loved it.

Gem of a restraunt found on a road trip through town- stoped in for a quick lunch for a bit of a break. Tortillas are made fresh next door, and all is homemade. House salsa has a wonderful kick, and horchata has great flavor as well. Definitely worth stopping by!

Their breakfast is ok. Menudo was above average. I felt like everything was a bit over priced for simple authentic mexican food compared to other comparable joints in Little Rock.

My buddy Francisco who I work with recommended this place because it's as authentic as it gets in Little Rock. He was right on the money. He had the Machaca and I had the Lengua tacos, and let me tell you, I could kiss the chef because that guy knows what he's doing. Prices are cheap and the beer is really cold. We've been back four or five times since then and the service is always impeccable, and the food is as good as it gets. Highly recommended.

I used to travel to Mexico a few times a year and have missed authentic street tacos ever since. That was until I found the Taqueria Karina Cafe. They have by far the most authentic Mexican food in the state and more authentic than most places I have visited in the States. I really enjoy the asada tacos (the basic ones with cilantro, lime, onions, meat, and jalapenos.) The prices are super cheap as well. Just be careful visiting at night. It is not in the nicest of neighborhoods and may be a place you only want to visit at lunch.

Always on the lookout for good Mexican food...and this was great! To begin with, the salsa was warm and served in a glass carafe with warm, thin tortilla chips. My husband and I split the steak fajitas, seasoned to perfection with onions and jalepenos, served up with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and lime. They were divine, on the spicy side, but that's the way we like 'em. Prices were right, and service was friendly. If you're in Little Rock and looking for authentic Mexican food, can't go wrong here.

Awesome, awesome food. To be perfectly honest, I prefer the street food (tacos, chicharrones, etc.) available at the Mexican grocery on the corner of University and 65th, but this is easily the best restaurant-style food in town and some of the best I've had anywhere. I particularly recommend their carnitas and their lengua. If you want an excellent, authentic Mexican sit-down meal, come here first.

Me and my husband have been going here for 10 years or more. As the previous post states, my husband is from So. Cal. (Chino) and always raved about the street taco's there and complained that there was not a place like that when he moved here. I was working in a warehouse on 65th street and somebody told my husband about this wonderful little hole in the wall. He was super impressed. We drive from Ward, Ar at least twice a month to have their wonderful food. The service is wonderful and I would recommend it to anybody!!!

Full Disclosure, I grew up in Southern California and now live in Northern California so I have had a lot of good, authentic Mexican food. Like, a lot a lot. Being in Central Arkansas on business I had no expectation to find a good Mexican place but inspired by the previous review on here (as well as one or two others that popped up in quick search) I and a few colleagues decided to give Taqueria Karina a shot. And am I ever glad we did! Food is delicious, authentic Mexican cooking. The street tacos are exactly what they should be, except about twice as big as I've ever seen them (and only $1.25!?!) and come with a roasted green onion and jalapeno. The comp'd chips and salsa are delicious and the entrees were also large, delicious and priced right. My steak Barbacoa (mexican BBQ) was ~$10 for the plate with rice, beans, tortillas and avocado/lettuce/onions on the side. I paired that with a chicken taco (always get the onions and cilantro, always) and had plenty to eat. The server and cook were very nice and service was prompt. We didn't order off it but they also have lunch specials for $4.50 that feature one or two items that sounded good as well. Highly recommend, especially if the only Mexican food you've had is your Chevy's style chain slop.
